Joint birthday party at AHOPEFor those of you interested in AHope, the HIV+ orphanage, I thought I’d share some links with some good reading, as well as a video of five children from AHOPE who were recently given the opportunity to visit New York City and participate in a fund-raiser for AHOPE, showing contributors just how healthy kids can be when they get the antiretroviral drugs that they so badly need.

Please keep in mind that if you would like to make an AHOPE donation in someone’s honor this Christmas, for $25 they will send you a really nice looking gift card that commemorates that gift for your recipient.

Orphan Rangers Grace and Randy Knight
Grace Knight is a school nurse in Weatherfield, VT. Randy Knight is an emergency physician at Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont, NH. Randy and Grace took a month out of their busy lives to volunteer as WWO Orphan Rangers at AHOPE. This is the journal of their time in Addis, and was exciting for me to read, because THIS was when the children finally received the very first ARV’s (anti-retrovirals).

On page 18 of this AMDNJ magazine is a story about international adoption, HIV, and Dr. Jane Aronson, the international adoption specialist and champion of AHOPE.

And finally, here is the link to the MSNBC video. You’llneed to scroll down to ‘Editor’s Picks’ and click on “Orphans’Odyssey.” On the video you’ll ‘meet’ the five children who visited NYC, see scenes from inside AHOPE, and hear from Dr. Jane Aronson.

Hi, Mary. I clicked on the link to the MSNBC video, and it is a report about Cynthia Mckinney wanting to impeach Bush…

Erin has a direct link (maybe?, I couldn’t get hers to work, but that may be a browser issue):
