I wanted to tell you about a site put together by a mom who is expecting her referral from Ethiopia any day now. In this wait she noticed that it is possible to buy t-shirts for with adoption slogans for families adopting from China and other countries, but nothing for Ethiopia.
She designed shirts for herself and some friends, and in the process discovered that there was broader interest than she’d thought. Her website is called Making A Difference. $4 from every shirt goes towards a Canadian Humanitarian organization called CHOIR. Among other projects, CHOIR supports AHOPE, the Ethiopian AIDS orphanage I’ve mentioned here.
Lisa is now putting together another shirt order, which she hopes to place before she goes to Ethiopia in mid-February. So if you’re interested, go check out the site. To be processed quickly, any orders will need to be placed in the next week. When Lisa gets back from Ethiopia, she plans to share the story of her trip (reason enough for me to be visiting her site!), and at that point she will also be able to take more orders for shirts.
She has lots of styles and sizes of shirts. One that caught my eye is a child’s shirt that says, “Just so you know, I’m PRICELESS.” Another one says, “I grew in my mommy’s heart.” And one for adults says, “Expecting From Ethiopia.” Go check it out – looks like a good idea that benefits a good cause!
