Hi, my husband and I will be adopting from Ethiopia but we havent chosen an agency yet. However, we know that it takes 2 months or more to complete a home study. We want to get a jumpstart on the home study. I was wondering if someone had the home study guidelines for Ethiopia? I know that each country has certain points they want to see addressed in the home study. I was wondering if someone who's currently in process would mind sharing those. Thank you and good luck to everyone. We're so excited!!
Our social worker actually asked *us* by what date we would like to have our homestudy update complete -- so she could fit things into her schedule. She was extremely prompt with our original homestudy -- I guess we just lucked out!

Owlhaven, you have 'social worker' and 'timely' in the same sentence! That used to be an oxymoron. It does say how much adoption has changed in the last 10 years. Isn't it neat to be able to think of timeframes that ordinary humans use.

I have decided to 'do it' one last time, and am using an agency that also does international adoptions. These people move fast, its impressive, but hard to get used to. John
I did it Mary and am waiting for a response from her. You advice has just been invaluable! Especially the encouragement to make a connection with all who take a part in bringing our child home. It has worked amazingly! The USCIS employee that fingerprinted me gave me his personal number so he could report on the status of our prints just one day after we were printed!
