You probably remember that I blogged last week, asking you all to consider contacting Rosetta Stone to ask them to produce an Amharic language learning CD. Many of you did contact them– thanks so much! I’m not sure how many folks go back and read all the comments on posts, so I wanted to make sure this one from Waiting for Iyasu wasn’t missed.
Just for fun, the following is the response that I received from Rosetta Stone:
Thank you for your advice. I will put in a request for the Amharic language on your behalf. Please check our web site periodically for updates on the release of new languages; www.rosettastone.com. I’ve had at least 7 request for this language since last Thursday, so it’s quickly becoming a highly requested language. Please let me know if I can assist your further. Thanks!
Regards,
Antonio
This reply is different from the standard reply that many of us got when we submitted our request, which leads me to think that our requests are being taken seriously by Rosetta Stone. Between the members of my agency’s e-group and everyone who weighed in here, I think they’ve actually received at least 15 requests.
If you also want to enlarge your children’s possibilities for Amharic language learning, it’s not too late to make your voice be heard. Click on my original Rosetta Stone post for all the ways you can contact this company. I’m really excited that they are listening!
