Hair Product Review: Blended Beauty

The other hair products that I have tried in the last few weeks are from Blended Beauty. These products are petroleum-free and mineral-oil-free. The two products that I was able to try on my girls were the Satin Styles Detangler and the Light Down and Out Styles from the Blended Cutie child's line.

Both items have a nice mellow almond fragrance that is very pleasant. The Satin Style detangler seemed kind of watery to me, and it took a LOT to have any affect on my girls' thick hair. This might work well with a child with little less hair. But for detangling my girls' hair, it is once again back to the Suave 2-minute conditioner for me.

The Light Down and Out Styles was nice stuff. The weight of the product lengthens the curls and defines the ringlets really nicely. It did not impart quite as much shine as some of the Carol's Daughter stuff I've used lately, and one of my big girls felt like their hair didn't feel quite as soft as usual with this product. But it did feel to me like it had more moisturizing good stuff than my standard Suave. It made the hair look really nice, and I did actually leave their hair down for a couple days, using this stuff. I got a two ounce sample tub, and promptly used half the tub on four uses (two per daughter). I'd definitely need to buy the largest size container that they have.

Mary,
We didn't try the "down and out" ones because I was really looking for more of a moisturizer than a styler... We love the "Butter Me Up"...it really moisturizes the hair and defines the curls without making it stiff or sticky at all, and it lasts at least 24 hours looking great. I think that using the shampoo and conditioner along with it has helped too...the "Tug Me Not" conditioner is great stuff... a little goes a long way and I can comb Belane's hair right out after rinsing out the conditioner. If you like the scent and the product you might want to try the shampoo, conditioner and Butter Me Up.

I agree that the hair isn't as "shiny" as with the Carol's daughter, but it also isn't as greasy feeling...I like the soft feeling much better.

I hear you on using stuff quickly...we have three black girls and two boys...we go through lots of stuff!!!

Hugs,
E

Ok, fine. You got me. Stop twisting my arm! OW! OW! OWWW! (If my husband asks, I'm blaming the following on you, so just play along, ok?) I just ordered some of that pricey Blended Cutie shampoo and conditioner. These little girls and their hair products... I've become quite pleased with Carol's Daughter Hair Milk for moisture lately , after finally breaking down and really starting to use it even though the last tub o' stuff is not done yet. (So against my grain. What a challenge to my sensibilities all of this product-trying is!). But I still haven't found a shampoo/ conditioner that I like now that my daughter's hair is longer than little baby length. So here goes! By the way, I can no longer find Suave 2-minute conditioner ANYWHERE in our market! There's now a new, different deep conditioning product on the shelf, so maybe that replaced it? Oh, well. It was good for detangling.

Yes Mary, you better stock up because I looked everywhere for the Suave 2 minute conditioner and have never found it!

Do you have any recommendations for products to bring with us on the trip? Do I need to be thinking abot that? What should we be using on hair when we first bathe our little one. She'll be an infant.
