How Did “CWA” Christian World Adoption get Hague accredited when they transported the wrong children into the U.S.? How are they still licensed in Ethiopia?

My husband and I just decided to start our adoption process and so far Ethiopia looks like the best choice for us. We are contacting our local Bethany Christian Services. I know their Ethiopian program is semi new. Anyone use Bethany in the past or know anything about their experience with Ethiopia?

We are just beginning to consider the possibilty of adoption. I have been researching lots of agencies. I would like to hear feedback from anyone who has used Adoption Advocates International, Adoption Avenues, or Children’s Home Society and Family Services. Does anyone have experience with the CHSFS office in Springfield, VA?

CWA is very bad news from this end. If/when the powers that be call them on their behavior, those of you who have used them could have huge problems.

Can anyone help me? I look at this adoption process from the other end. I want to get the best situations for the wee ones that I rescue from the rural areas. My most burning question: for the agencies that claim to be Christian, do any of them define “Christian” as anything other than “Anyone who is willing to pay our fees”? I would like to see my wee ones placed in homes that are Protestant, Catholic, or Jewish, exclusive of the cults. It seems that this is too much to ask.

CWA had been previously listed as ‘Do Not Use’ because of the ongoing situation with 3 children and 2 families. The paperwork of each of the 3 girls is intermingled and the girls went home with the wrong families. CWA is yet to help resolve the issue 10 months later. The President of the First Instance Courts in Ethiopia said to CWA that they “are a stain on Ethiopia’s pride and an embarassment to adoption” for what they have done in regards to this case.
